I wish there was a way to truly capture the scale and sobriety of this painting in a photo because although I tried, and this is the image from MOCA’s website, photography can’t capture the subtlety of the colors or the overwhelming size of the canvas, or the sense of calm but inevitable dread this painting conveys. It’s a heady painting that photography just can’t capture. And that’s unfortunate. Continue reading →
